Below is the 1918 list of all 56 New Bedford residents who owned an automobile.

Horse power ranged from 2hp to 14hp tops! Todays automobiles are far beyond that horsepower range and made of lighter materials.

Some of the early cars were very heavy. Their weight was reminiscent of a military tank.
