"The On-ramp to the New Bedford Fairhaven Bridge Picture from the 1940's

This was what you would see as you approached the New Bedford - Fairhaven Bridge.

Note the signs in the photo. The area has been dramatically changed. This was written in 2011.

There was a Plumbers supply building to the north and the Anderson Little Company had a store nearby.

Across the intersection to the west on Rt 6 was a small park with a stone lighthouse that was later renovated and moved further west during the urban renewal of the late 60's early 70's.

What is known as "The Octopus", an intersection of several different streets is there now.
