1957 Image of Chet's "Oak Service Filling Station"

I can see the site of this building from my front porch. I lived 4 houses away since 1976 and never knew that the site had once been a gas station until I saw this photo.

I don't know when the gas station closed but it was sometime between 1957 and 1976.

It is seen to be the "Oak Service Filling Station" but it is on Rockland street which would be Oak street  if Oak street did not end at Dartmouth street.   

The pickup truck is on Rockland street and the cross street in front of us is Dartmouth Street.

In the summer of 2013 the building was modified from a still earlier version and made to look as it does. I think the roof was elevated a slight bit as well.
