This is the location of the Fifth Street School.
On May 11, 1861, this became the first school in the nation to fly the flag every day. |
It was on the south-west corner of Russell and Fifth Street (Now called Pleasant Street). Antonio Francisco Ramos nicknamed "Sunshine" was a patriot who dedicated part of his life to raising the American Flag at the Fifth Street School.
